The Repulsion Box (2005)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Release Date: Aug 09, 2005; Lead Performance: Sons and Daughters; Genre: Indie Rock

Morrissey claimed celibacy, so it's doubtful he sired these sons and daughters. Rather, think of this coed Glaswegian quartet as the Smiths' younger sibs. The Repulsion Box's 10 sweet yet sinister tracks, highlighted by ''Rama Lama'' and ''Take the Last Girl,'' provide the punk-rockabilly jangle, while Adele Bethel's wail melds with Scott Paterson's deadpan laments to make for a darn groovy good time.
