Apparently, musical ability runs in the family, as Reba's on-screen daughter, Kyra (Scarlett Pomers), and her band continue to prosper — with or without her mom's support. Meanwhile, 10-year-old son Jake (Mitch Holleman) will discover the mysterious appeal of the opposite sex, and Reba and Van (Steve Howey) will team up as real estate agents. But there is a much bigger problem to contend with in season 5: the pregnancy of actress Melissa Peterman. Instead of having her character, Barbara Jean, get preggers too, exec producers Matt Berry and Kevin Abbott decided instead just to make her...fat! ''We're going to do an episode about what happens when one of the people in the marriage gets heavy,'' says Abbott. Whether the ensuing laughs will be huge remains to be seen.
