In nearly all cases, we need the artists we love to grow and evolve. But when those artists are Sigur Rós, and they keep doing exactly what they do best, we revel only in the smallest variations. At times Takk almost rocks as much as tiny ice-crystal elves from the magical land of Narnia can rock, but still. Anyhow, the thundering majesty of harder tracks (''Saeglopur,'' ''Glósóli'') finds its strings-laden counterpart in the swooning slo-mo abstraction that makes up the bulk of the disc; and once again, all is right with the world.
