The premise of Damn Nation feels awfully familiar: America has been overrun by vampires and rendered a no-living-man's-land. But there's a scientist who may have found a cure, and so a military squad has to rescue him. It's Escape From New York simple, and that simplicity is a Trojan horse for writer Andrew Cosby to layer in some razor-sharp political satire. I said it feels familiar — the really good stories always feel like they've been around forever.
