L.A. celebs flock to see the art of Basquiat. Exhibit attracts Chris Rock, Kirsten Dunst and other A-list aesthetes

WHERE: The Museum of Contemporary Art in L.A.

WHEN: Until Oct. 10, 2005.

WHO: The exhibition of '80s-era painter Jean-Michel Basquiat has been luring more A-listers than the VIP room at Shelter. Kirsten Dunst, Chris Rock, Don Cheadle, and Mary-Kate Olsen have all stopped by to check out the legendary artist's work. And with a packed Saturday-night party each week, it's only a matter of time before Paris Hilton dances on a table in the museum gift shop.

WHY: ''Basquiat's definitely pulled in a lot of famous faces,'' says Scott Newell, a MOCA staffer. ''But when they come here, they're left alone. Guess the paparazzi don't think to look for celebrities at a museum.'' Uh, until now.
