Thrillingly perceptive and absorbing. Philip Seymour Hoffman, in a sublime, must-see feat of a performance, plays Truman Capote during the six tormented years it took him to write In Cold Blood. The bond between Capote and convicted killer Perry Smith (Clifton Collins Jr.) is the core of the film, as the author exploits their friendship in the guise of perpetuating it.
