Director Carroll Ballard still connects you to the beauteous inner calm of the wild, even if audiences today are looking for a lot less calm. In South Africa, Xan (Alex Michaeletos) adopts a cheetah cub and returns the grown-up predator to the wilderness. Wondrous yet cute.
