Good eeeeeevening. (Or good morning, or good afternoon, or whenever you happen to be reading this.) Of course, it sounds much cooler coming from the mouth of Alfred Hitchcock, who used that greeting to kick off each installment of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The master of suspense would bookend each episode to — in his words — ''give the title to those of you who can't read, and to tidy up afterwards for those who don't understand the endings.'' In between were stories that dealt with murder and mystery, but even more so, the fragile nature of the human psyche. Season 1 features actors like Joseph Cotten, Joanne Woodward, John Forsythe, Cloris Leachman, and Claude Rains (as well as a struggling young thespian named Aaron Spelling), but the man in the silhouette steals the show. EXTRAS In a too-brief doc, producer Norman Lloyd explains how Hitchcock would view rough cuts of the show, and, ''if he liked it very much, he'd say, 'Good.' If he didn't like it very much, he'd say, 'Thank you.''' This set is most definitely...good.
