Details Release Date: Nov 22, 2005; Lead Performance: The Mendoza Line; Genre: Indie Rock

As always, The Mendoza Line shines brightest when mopey-voiced Shannon McArdle steers the music away from conventional alt-country. Her quirky odes to women in the Middle East, suicidal moms, and George W. Bush are the most elliptical, but Full of Light and Full of Fire contains the prettiest, protest songs imaginable.
