COURTS Eight months after he was acquitted of criminal charges in the slaying of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, Robert Blake, 71, was found liable in a wrongful-death civil suit Nov. 18 in Burbank and ordered to pay her children $30 million in damages.... Orlando Bloom, 28, was sued by former management The Firm for $660,000 in commission fees related to Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3. The suit, filed Nov. 14 in L.A., claims the deals were brokered prior to Bloom leaving the agency in July 2005.... Vincent Pastore, a.k.a. ''Big Pussy'' on The Sopranos, pleaded guilty on Nov. 21 in NYC to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a fight with his girlfriend in April. Pastore, 59, will reportedly perform 70 hours of community service and attend anger management classes.... The state of Texas filed suit against Sony BMG Music Entertainment on Nov. 21 under its new antispyware law, claiming Sony's CDs with XCP technology contain hidden spyware. Sony denies violating any laws but is recalling the discs.... Russell Crowe, 41, pleaded guilty Nov. 18 in NYC to reduced misdemeanor charges for striking a hotel clerk with a phone in June. If Crowe stays out of trouble for a year, all charges will be dismissed.

PET PEEVE California officials are investigating whether Paris Hilton, 24, has violated state law with her famous (but allegedly illegal) pet kinkajou, Baby Luv. They say Hilton may have to put the raccoonlike animal in a shelter or have it impounded.

PROTEST Rapper Snoop Dog, 34, attended a protest Nov. 19 at California's San Quentin prison, asking Governor Schwarzenegger to commute the death sentence of Crips cofounder Stanley ''Tookie'' Williams. Williams, portrayed by Jamie Foxx in the TV movie Redemption, is scheduled to be executed Dec. 13 for murdering four people in 1979.

EVENT ''In England we're in favor of global warming — it's the only way we'll get the climate to improve,'' quipped Eric Idle at Earth to America!, a comedy event promoting environmental awareness, Nov. 17 in Las Vegas.
