FIRES An early morning fire brought down the Compleat Angler Hotel, which contained an Ernest Hemingway museum, on the island of Bimini in the Bahamas, Jan. 13. The hotel's bar was one of the Old Man and the Seaauthor's favorite haunts in the '30s.
COURTS Kate Moss' on-again, off-again (but at press time off-again) musician beau Pete Doherty, 26, was arrested again the morning of Jan. 14, when police booked him on possession of hard drugs.... Chris Carter, creator of The X-Files, filed suit Dec. 30, 2005, in L.A. against 20th Century Fox for breach of contract.
