Donald Trump filed a $5 billion yup, billion defamation suit Jan. 23 against author Timothy O'Brien and Warner Books (a division of Time Warner, EW's parent company), claiming O'Brien's book TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald contains ''egregiously false and malicious statements.'' One sticking point: TrumpNation reported that the Apprentice boss wasn't actually a billionaire. Said Warner Books in a statement: ''O'Brien and his book speak for themselves.''
PREMIERE The highly anticipated adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, will open the 2006 Cannes film festival on May 17. The premiere gives French filmgoers a solid two days to mock Hanks' mullet-like Code hairdo before the movie opens worldwide and the rest of us can join in the fun.
