Every few years, Hollywood offers up cinematic fruit so tempting and so ridiculous that the pop culture obsessed are overwhelmed with a single, all-consuming urge: Must. See. Now! 2006 is blessed with just such a project. A movie whose title (for better or worse) speaks for itself. Snakes on a Plane. There are T-shirts. Websites. Fans twitching in anticipation. Yet when we called New Line for an update on the slithery Sam Jackson project, a rep declined to comment. Which begs the question: What is the studio trying to hide? How many snakes are on that plane? And just how poisonous are they? Rest assured, we will keep vigil until we have answers. Or at least a free toy snake.
