George Clooney keeps the pounds off as an Army war correspondent in Steven Soderbergh's post-WWII thriller The Good German, out in the fall, and will next bare his briefs as a corrupt lawyer in Michael Clayton.... Matt Dillon lightens up as a newlywed cursed with an annoying friend (Owen Wilson) in July's You, Me, and Dupree.... Currently filming the heist drama Shoot 'Em Up opposite Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti goes mainsteam leading man in M. Night Shyamalan's ''bedtime story'' Lady in the Water, out July 21. Meanwhile, his two Sundance dramas, The Hawk Is Dying and The Illusionist, are seeking distribution.... Jake Gyllenhaal plays a journalist who just can't quit the '70s serial killer Zodiac in David Fincher's latest, due out Sept. 22.... William Hurt certainly isn't hurting for film roles: He's wrapped The King, opposite Gael García Bernal; Chad Lowe's directorial debut, Beautiful Ohio; the CIA drama The Good Shepherd for Robert DeNiro; and the Steven King TNT miniseries Nightmares and Dreamscapes.
