All About

Prison Break

Lincoln Burrows

Dominic Purcell

CRIME Murder — or, at least, that's what he's been convicted of: Lincoln is the apparent fall guy in a conspiracy hatched by none other than the VP of the United States (thirtysomething's Patricia Wettig)

SENTENCE Death

SORRY, SPARKY Purcell (formerly of the Fox flop John Doe) was asked if he would be willing to sit in an authentic Joliet Correctional Center electric chair for a dream sequence. He declined. ''I wasn't going to sit in a chair that real people actually died in.''

HIATUS HEAD-SCRATCHING Says Purcell about scheduling issues (the show was off the air for months while Fox launched new seasons of 24 and American Idol): ''I was surprised like everyone. The show had so much momentum — to be taken off the air felt strange. But hey, the suits thought otherwise.''

SNEAK PEEK Season 2 is Lincoln time! ''He drives it next year. That's the way it's been told to me. In season 1, Michael is the man with the plan. In the second season, Lincoln explodes from the gate.''

BEFORE HE BREAKS OUT... Lincoln ''really steps up in the escape attempt,'' says Purcell. ''He's on a rampage.''

COULD HE REALLY SURVIVE PRISON? ''I don't want to imagine that. Rot in a cell for 50 years? I think I would kill myself.''

ESTIMATED CHANCE OF ESCAPE 100%. ''But wouldn't it be funny if after all this, Lincoln gets electrocuted anyway?'' says Callies. Great idea! Let's make that 80%.
