Advice for ''American Idol'' finalist Taylor Hicks
WHAT'S WORKING Taylor finds more joy in singing than perhaps any performer in Idol history, and when he chooses the right song, as he did with Stevie Wonder's ''Living for the City,'' it's hard not to beam along with him.
WHAT NEEDS WORK Let's get right to the point: Keep the self-hugging, mid-performance whooping, and various other tics to a bare minimum.
FROCK U Folks who've suggested this unlikely sex symbol dye his trademark gray locks need their heads examined. I would not, however, be opposed to Taylor getting a Clooney-esque trim, the better to match his impeccable, tailored suits.
REQUEST LIST Terence Trent D'Arby's ''Wishing Well,'' LaBelle's ''Lady Marmalade,'' Fine Young Cannibals' ''She Drives Me Crazy''
