Natalie Portman does her best Keanu Reeves impression this weekend, starring in V for Vendetta, a sci-fi thriller written by Matrix creators the Wachowski Brothers.
While you shouldn't expect Vendetta to rack up numbers anywhere near The Matrix Reloaded's $91 million debut, it could top the first Matrix's opening-weekend tally of $27.8 million. V should see a $28 million premiere this weekend.
Last week's No. 1 film, Failure to Launch, will see a 45 percent slip to $13 million, just ahead of the weekend's other new wide release, Amanda Bynes' teen comedy She's the Man. The high-school cross-dressing flick will open with about $12 million.
Rounding out the top five will be The Shaggy Dog, down 40 percent to $10 million, and The Hills Have Eyes, which will plummet 55 percent to $7 million in its second weekend. The hills may have 'em, but there won't be too many eyes in those theaters.
