Sam Shepard plays a badboy Western star who's aged into the era of tabloid scandal. Wim Wenders directs with his usual flaky, here-and-there ramble, but Shepard, who wrote the screenplay, depicts Hollywood burnout with a hard-bitten inside knowledge.
