The combined star power of Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster, and Spike Lee will easily drive Inside Man to the top of the box office this weekend. The bank-heist drama will become Lee's second No. 1 debut (following He Got Game, also starring Washington), thanks to a three-day tally of about $20 million.
Meanwhile, V for Vendetta will lose about half its audience in its second weekend, earning another $12 million, while Failure to Launch and The Shaggy Dog should each add $9 million to their box office totals.
Also opening this weekend are Stay Alive, a teen horror flick about a deadly videogame, with not much in the way of star power (except Frankie Muniz in a small role) and Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, in which the cult comedian will attempt (and fail) to become the next Jim Carrey. Or even the next Rob Schneider. These two new entries will gross $8 million and $6 million, respectively.
