The Deal Report: April 7, 2006

MOVIES
> Josh Hartnett is a busy man. Lucky Number Slevin — a thriller with Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman — hits theaters April 7, and he recently wrapped The Black Dahlia with Hilary Swank and Scarlett Johansson. Next up is Resurrecting the Champ, which sees Samuel L. Jackson ''play a homeless man I befriend and go through a lot with on the L.A. streets,'' says Hartnett. And who hasn't been there with Mr. Jackson before?

> Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones are out, but Ellen Barkin has jumped into Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's 13, slated to shoot this summer.

> Tom Hanks plays an ad exec who loses his job and becomes a barista in Gus Van Sant's impartially titled How Starbucks Saved My Life.

TELEVISION
> The ever-youthful Heather Locklear plays a widow in the ABC sitcom pilot Women of a Certain Age, which costars Illeana Douglas and Frasier's Peri Gilpin.
