THE FUTURE P. DIDDY? Bobb'e J

In the recently released DVD JammX Kids: Can't Dance Don't Want To, (Warner, $14.98) a group of young people try to help out a boy named Josh, who has two left feet and is embarassed to go to the school dance. He's actually a K.I.T. (Kid in Trouble) who C.D.W.T. (Can't Dance Won't Try), so it's up to a team of nine JammXers, an incredibly talented bunch who range in age from 9 to 17, to teach him — and hence viewers — the latest hip-hop steps. Think Mickey Mouse Club, but cool.

The JammXers will be making appearances across the country and already have a sequel DVD in the can, so we thought we'd catch up with one, Bobb'e J, 10, who plays Master Groove, the leader of the pack. You might recognize him from his stints on NBC's The Tracy Morgan Show or Disney's That's So Raven, and you'll be seeing him in Outkast's upcoming feature Idlewild. The fourth-grader, who hails from Kansas City, Mo., took time out to chat with EW.com.

What work are you most known for?
That's So Raven. I play Stanley. He has a little thing for Raven. But then later on, he leaves Raven alone and starts bugging Cory and Eddie.

Tell me about Master Groove, the character you play in JammX Kids.
Master Groove is a trip. Master Groove is the boss. Master Groove is kind of like a ruler, he sends [the dancers] on a mission to save K.I.T.'s. He's kind of like the funny man of the group, that keeps the group going.

Who is Master Groove most like in real life?
He's another P. Diddy, that's what Master Groove is. I've never met P. Diddy, but I would love to. He's such a great role model; he has his own business, he shows young men how to make something of themselves in life. He's basically the entrepreneur that I would like to be.

Any favorite hip-hop moves?
Yes — krumping, and heel-toeing.

What's up next for you?
I have [NBC's] Gary Coleman project coming out.

Okay, we're going to play a game. Fill in the blank here: I would love to work with...
P. Diddy.

The last song I downloaded to my iPod was...
''Red Light,'' by Usher.

The person I would most like to be like in entertainment is...
P. Diddy.

Okay, guess we didn't even need to do that one... What's your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is math. I'm very good in math. Gotta know how to count my money one day.
