SWOON FACTOR Yes, it's true that the unknown actor who landed the role of the young, idealistic M.D. working in a run-down Boston hospital went on to become a two-time Oscar winner and international film star, but that's not why we dubbed him McFantasy. Rather, it's the fact that after St. Elsewhere made us get emotionally involved with Dr. Chandler, the series finale revealed the goings-on at St. Eligius Hospital to be the figment of an autistic child's imagination. Come to think of it, perhaps we should've called him McDaydreamy.
