VINDICATION OF THE WEEK
On April 7, a British judge ruled against authors Michael Baigent and
Richard Leigh, who sued Random House claiming that Dan Brown, writer of
The Da Vinci Code, had stolen the central themes and architecture of
their book Holy Blood, Holy Grail. In a statement, Brown noted, ''I'm
still astonished that these two authors chose to file their suit at
all.'' He then proceeded to light his cigar with a copy of the Magna
Carta. (Kidding.)
