The latest from the ex-Groove Theory singer-songwriter Amel Larrieux is an inspired collaboration with her husband, co-writer, and producer, Laru. Echoing their 2004 effort, Bravebird, the couple explore matters of the heart in an understated framework of mellow grooves and ballads. Standouts include three bass-heavy slow jams (''Gills and Tails,'' ''Magic,'' ''Mountain of When'') that evoke the earthy sensuality of Erykah Badu's first album, but Larrieux's passionate chemistry (''Earn My Affection,'' ''No One Else'') is Morning's greatest strength.
