Hoobastank can craft a hook — which they proved with their 2004 hit ''The Reason'' and prove again here. From the up-tempo riffing of ''Without a Fight'' to the Journey-esque ballad ''Moving Forward,'' it's hard to find a track that won't get fists pumping or cigarette lighters waving. The problem is an unlovely brutishness evident throughout: Every Man for Himself that opens with a drill sergeant barking Full Metal Jacket-style orders, features the repeated shrieks of ''Fight!'' on the track ''Without a Fight,'' and boasts a ''love song'' called ''Inside of You.''
