Release Date: May 09, 2006; Lead Performance: Lansing-Dreiden; Genre: Pop

It's difficult to compare Lansing-Dreiden, a maddeningly obtuse, self-proclaimed ''multimedia art collective'' to anything in current rotation; best to invoke the synth-pop pipe dreams of '80s-era Euro collectibles like Yaz and Alphaville, or the glitter-bomb antics of early-aughts art-school jesters Fischerspooner. Though not quite as arresting as 2003's The Incomplete Triangle, The Dividing Island is still by turns disarmingly woozy (''One for All''), sexily yacht-rocky (''A Line You Can Cross''), and hilariously pretentious (see, oh, most of the lyrics).
