As a girl, Eva Mozes Kor was imprisoned at Auschwitz, where she and her twin sister became victims of the monstrous ''experiments'' of Dr. Josef Mengele. Decades later, Kor, in her quest to heal that nightmare, publicly forgave her tormentor. Was it an act of courage, naïveté, or both? This moving film explores the trauma of a Holocaust survivor with rare complexity, as Kor whose anguished clarity of memory lends her a fierce spiritual glow insists that her action allowed her to transcend her status as a victim. In doing so, she enraged more than one fellow survivor, yet the force of her presence makes it hard to doubt her.
