Details Release Date: May 30, 2006; Writer: Jeffery Deaver; Genres: Fiction, Mystery and Thriller; Publisher: Simon & Schuster

Quadriplegic investigator Lincoln Rhyme and his colleagues face off against the Watchmaker, a serial killer who leaves ticking clocks beside his victims.

Body Count
Six.

Worst Death
So many choices, but probably this one: ''The perp rigged this iron bar — weighs maybe seventy-five pounds — above his neck. The vic has to hold it up to keep from getting his throat crushed.''

Lowdown
The windup is sensational, but Deaver throws in too many preposterous, late-in-the-game twists.
