The timing is right for a Hot Tuna retrospective, since the Jefferson Airplane spinoff's heady mix of acoustic and electric blues is kin to the current underground wave of psychedelic folk-rock acts like Six Organs of Admittance. Keep On Truckin': The Very Best of Hot Tuna traces the '70s arc of the group (still going strong), with Jorma Kaukonen's down-home fingerpicking and feedback snarls circling bass-playing partner Jack Casady and various support players. A perfect intro to the band though Kaukonen's '74 solo set Quah is recommended once you get hooked.
