Ford's lackluster performance does little to rescue Richard Loncraine's bank-robbery snoozefest from its tech-heavy schemes, vapid action sequences, and an overbearing sense of déjà vu (Patriot Games, Air Force One).

EXTRAS A sit-down with Ford and Loncraine in ''Firewall: Decoded'' discloses script difficulties right up until principal shooting and the studio's misgivings about the project. In ''Writing a Thriller,'' Joe Forte gushes about the genesis of his script but fails to explain why Bettany and Madsen's considerable talents were squandered.
