Remember those old '20s musicals with the preposterous plots, stylized vaudeville performances, luminous star turns, and catchy melodies (yes, melodies!) that sent you skipping from the theater? Neither do I. But The Drowsy Chaperone's narrator, the infectiously spry Bob Martin, does. And when he puts an old cast recording on his turntable, suddenly a Prohibition-era production comes to full, glorious life in his studio apartment. This is a gin fizz of a show, with special kick provided by intoxicating ingenue Sutton Foster. And while there may be more fizz than gin in the glass, it goes down very well indeed. (212-307-4100)
