filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream), 37, greeted their
first child, a boy, on May 31 in NYC.... Woody Harrelson (A Prairie Home
Companion), 44, and wife Laura Louie, 41, welcomed their third daughter,
Makani Ravello, on June 3 in Italy.
EXPECTING
Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), 35, and boyfriend Thomas Mars, 29,
singer for the French band Phoenix, will welcome their first kid at the
end of the year.... Anna Nicole Smith, 38, is pregnant. The TrimSpa
spokesblonde also has a 20-year-old son.
MARRIED
Those who play together (on TV) stay together: On May 29, Adrianne Curry(America's Next Top Model), 23, and Christopher Knight (The Brady
Bunch), 48, wed in Joliet, Ill. The pair met in 2004 while shooting The
Surreal Life.... Casey Affleck, 30 (brother of Ben), and Summer Phoenix,
27 (sister of Joaquin), tied the knot the weekend of June 2. They have a
2-year-old son.
AILING
On June 16, film critic Roger Ebert, 63, who has battled cancer in
recent years, will undergo surgery in Chicago to remove another
malignant growth on his salivary gland. He is expected to fully recover.
COURTS
An L.A. judge granted a temporary restraining order on June 2 to Cathy
Schulman, 41, and Tom Nunan, 43 preventing financier Bob Yari, 44, from
stripping them of producer credits on the upcoming drama The
Illusionist. Earlier this year, the three producers were embroiled in
high-profile legal battles related to their Oscar-winning film Crash....
An NYC judge determined on June 1 that the song ''Stand Up'' by Ludacris,
28, and Kanye West, 29, did not take lyrics from ''Straight Like That'' by
New Jersey band I.O.F.... Detroit prosecutors determined on May 30 that
Mario Etheridge, 28, who police say killed rapper Proof on April 11,
acted in defense of another man (his cousin Keith Bender, who was killed
in the incident) and within the law. Etheridge, due in court in
September, still faces weapons charges.... The FCC has rejected CBS'
appeal of a $550,000 fine for Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction
during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.... Michael Moore, 52, and NBC
are named in a May 26 suit filed by Army reservist Peter Damon. The
vet who lost both hands in 2003 while serving in Iraq claims he's
suffered emotional distress after an interview he gave to NBC was
excerpted in Moore's 2004 doc Fahrenheit 9/11. Damon alleges that the
film misrepresented him as being antiwar, and seeks $100 million in
damages.

Grateful Dead keyboardist Vince Welnick, 55, of an apparent suicide,
June 2, in Santa Rosa, Calif.... Photographer George ''Slim'' Aarons, 89,
who's most famous for shooting the rich and famous in the '50s and '60s,
of complications from a stroke and heart attack, May 30, in Montrose,
N.Y.... Alfred Newman, 88, known for his pictures of icons like Picasso
and JFK, after a stroke, June 6, in NYC.... Forties TV and movie hunk
Robert Sterling (Two-Faced Woman), 88, of complications from shingles,
May 30, in Brentwood, Calif.
