If the prospect of seeing Alec Baldwin bumping and grinding in a grass skirt and coconut bra isn't enough to entice you, rest assured that South Pacific in Concert From Carnegie Hall, this June 2005 staging has plenty of other virtues: a Rodgers & Hammerstein score that spawned more standards than any other; Broadway's favorite leading man, Brian Stokes Mitchell, lending his beautiful baritone to the still-fresh ''Some Enchanted Evening'' and the heartbreaking ''This Nearly Was Mine''; country-turned-TV star Reba McEntire no stranger to the stage, after her well-reviewed replacement stint in Annie Get Your Gun a few years back charming the natives (''A Cockeyed Optimist''), slaying 'em in a sailor suit (''Honey Bun''), and proving once and for all that she's a theater performer to be reckoned with. (Not to be forgotten: Jason Danieley's wonderfully conflicted Lieutenant Cable, who loves that younger-than-springtime island girl Liat.) As for the concert format, fret not: ''I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair'' works even without a headful of shampoo. EXTRAS None, but Baldwin shaking his coconuts is a bonus feature in itself.
