Light Poles and Pine Trees (2006)

Details Release Date: Jun 20, 2006; Lead Performance: Field Mob; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

On this Ludacris-approved Georgia duo's third and best album, Light Poles and Pine Trees, Mobster Shawn Jay proclaims, ''Field Mob the answer to the question, 'What if Big and Pac would've got along?''' Though impressively ballsy, the assertion is a tad off; their bouncy tracks will most likely satisfy old-school OutKast fans. From summertime trifles (''So What,'' ''Sorry Baby'') to diabolical crunk (''1, 2, 3'') to an earnest, knowing ballad lamenting racism (''Blacker the Berry''), Field Mob excel with a drawl and a wink.
