Have You No Shame?

Why we think the ''Seven Samurai'' should not be remade -- We beg the Weinstein Company to not remake the classic

We know it's hard to come up with good movie ideas — hello, The Lake House! — but that's still no excuse for the Weinstein Company's plan to remake Akira Kurosawa's Japanese masterpiece Seven Samurai. Hell, it's not even a new plan: Remember a little classic called The Magnificent Seven? Currently in talks to star in this new version: Ziyi Zhang, who so splendidly faked being Japanese in Memoirs of a Geisha. And the script is being penned by John Fusco, a.k.a. the dude who wrote the Young Guns movies (yes, both!). Do we smell Oscar? No, wait. That's just our heads exploding.
