Watch 'Kyle' veg out
Kyle XY: Sergi Bachlakov

Monday

June 26

SERIES DEBUT
8-9PM
Kyle XY (ABC Family, TV-14) Intriguing premise, sloppy execution: Kyle (Matt Dallas) wakes up in a forest as a naked, bellybutton-less, newborn-like blank slate. Before you can say ''teen Starman,'' he's taken in by a shrink, her hubby, and their two horny teens. While X-Files' Nicholas Lea lurks nearby, Kyle learns to talk, eat, drink, barf at a kegger, and pose like a wide-eyed Abercrombie model. At least his guileless act fits the character, but Kyle's voice-overs (and the scripts) need to grow up fast. B-Thom Geier

8-8:30PM
E! News Special: Ashlee Simpson (E!) Britney talked to Matt Lauer. Angelina talked to Anderson Cooper. And now Ashlee will talk to Ryan Seacrest. (Fitting, isn’t it?) Backstage at her LA concert, the singer dishes on her boyfriend and bandmate Braxton Olita, and tackles the rumors that she’s had plastic surgery.

MARATHON ALERT!
8-11PM
Is It Real? (National Geographic) Aliens? Iffy. Ghosts? Sure (hey, somebody's talking to John Edward). Ape man of Sumatra? Simple misunderstanding. It always happens when Robin Williams goes on vacay.

8-10PM
Guests of the Ayatollah (Discovery Times, TV-PG) The guy who wrote Black Hawk Down revisits the Iran hostage crisis.

9-10PM
The Closer (TNT, TV-14-V) Brenda's still trying to hide her sex life from her mom. You'd think Ms. Deductive Reasoning would realize that all we truly know of our parents is that they're well west of virgin territory.

9-10PM
Hell's Kitchen (Fox, TV-14-L) Kiddie cook-off! Unlike Top Chef, there won't be a wine nerd lecturing about mac and cheese, but still.

9-10:45PM
Follow My Voice: With the Music of Hedwig (Sundance, TV-14-DL) Sing along to ''Wig in a Box'' at this concert to benefit gay teens.

9-10PM
Treasure Hunters (NBC, TV-PG-L) Delving into the American Revolution to — hey, wait a minute! Are we learning? 'Cause we didn't purposely skip buying summer books just to end up learning.

SERIES DEBUT
10-11PM*
How Art Made the World (PBS, TV-PG) Fine, we'll learn some art history — but only 'cause all our friends are doin' it, and we were raised by Square Pegs to surrender to peer pressure.

10-10:30PM
7 Deadly Hollywood Sins: Sloth (E!, TV-14-L) So celebs don't actually do anything? Edifying.
