You know the story a talented pup named Joss Whedon writes a screenplay about a hot vamp killer, it gets made into a lousy 1992 movie, and so Whedon, still gnawing on this bone, turns it into...One of the Greatest Shows in Television History. Buffy had everything: great action, great jokes, great romance, great villains, great acting (you know Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon, and Anthony Stewart Head deserved Emmys), and above all, great writing the kind of writing around which worthy cults are formed.
