Details Release Date: May 02, 2006; Lead Performance: The BellRays; Genre: Indie Rock

The assumption, when you see an indie-rock power trio of white guys fronted by a black diva, might be that they'll serve up some punk-funk combo platter. And indeed, on Have a Little Faith, these L.A. club-scene kings do pull off equally adept homages to Stax (''Third Time's the Charm'') and the MC5 (''Detroit Breakdown''). But mostly, the BellRays excel at a hopped-up, souled-up version of what your grandma used to call acid rock. Every night, probably, Lenny Kravitz is having a nightmare that they, not he, are headlining the Monterey Pop Festival.
