MOVIES+ Michelle Pfeiffer will warble as the villainous Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray, the movie of the 2002 musical of the 1988 John Waters film. ''I play the Fabulous Baker Boys album all the time,'' gushes Waters. ''I'm thrilled.'' And, notes composer Marc Shaiman, the casting is history-making: ''With John Travolta'' — who'll don drag as supersize housewife Edna Turnblad — ''Grease and Grease 2 finally get to combine!''

+ We predict Angelina Jolie will be pregnant... on screen. She's set to star as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart, an adaptation of Pearl's memoir chronicling the 2002 abduction and murder of her husband, journalist Daniel Pearl, in Pakistan. Brad Pitt will co-produce.

+ Need a zombie fix? Mena Suvari, Ving Rhames, and Nick Cannon headline a remake of George A. Romero's 1985 Day of the Dead, shooting in Bulgaria. ''We're in the army, people start attacking each other,'' says Cannon. ''It's crazy!''
