Comic-Con: What's next for ''Spider-Man,'' ''Lost,'' ''Mars'' | 10420__posters_l
COMING ATTRACTIONS Teaser posters for Transformers and Trek unveiled at Comic-Con

SUPERMAN
The outlook seemed hazier for a Superman Returns sequel, especially after that movie's mildly disappointing box office run. But then director Bryan Singer showed up with the news that he'd already talked to Warner Bros. about a second Supes, which he compared to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and said would veer in a sci-fi direction. ''Oh yeah, they want to do it,'' he said. ''And there's interest in me [to direct] because I did the first one.''

LOST
The usually tight-lipped producers offered a slew of spoilers: There'll be three new cast members, including a love interest for Jack; Kate will have a romantic encounter in the first six episodes; and Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) and Henry Gale (Michael Emerson) will become regulars. ''This year will have less emphasis on mythology,'' says executive producer Carlton Cuse. ''It's gonna focus more on romance and action.'' (Click here for more on the Lost Experience — the online game that will reveal what's behind those nefarious numbers — and an exclusive interview with its fictional star, Rachel Blake.)

VERONICA MARS
The cast of the CW series — who were treated like $20 million stars by the locals — promised that season 3 would see a simplified story line, split into three big mysteries. ''[Creator Rob Thomas] said he got a bit convoluted last year,'' says star Kristen Bell. ''It was even hard for me to follow.'' As a bonus, they hope to land a cameo from Patty Hearst. ''We're debating whether she gets kidnapped,'' says Thomas. He's totally serious.

Of course, despite all the star power, there was still one attraction whose mere presence elicited oohs and aahs: an 84-year-old man named Stan Lee. The comics elder statesman — one of the first people to bridge the gap between fanboy and Hollywood — strolled through the scene like a rock star. ''You know, when I go down the halls, they mob me,'' he said with a smile. ''I'm thinking next time I'll wear a Spider-Man mask. People wear masks here, so nobody would know who the hell I am.''
