EXPECTING
Gillian Anderson (Bleak House), 37, and businessman Mark Griffiths will
have their first child late this year. The actress, who separated from
second husband Julian Ozanne, 43, in April, has a daughter, Piper, 11,
from her first marriage.
MARRIED
Former Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes, 34, announced July 17 that he
wed his boyfriend of two years, Richard Cullen, in a June 19 civil
ceremony in London.
DEPARTURES
SNL head writer and ''Weekend Update'' co-anchor Tina Fey, 36, revealed
July 21 on The Tonight Show that she is ending her run on the series.
Fey plans to focus on 30 Rock, her new sitcom debuting on NBC this fall.
Also leaving SNL: Rachel Dratch, 40, who costars on 30 Rock. Wah-wah.
RECOVERING
Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), 18, was hospitalized overnight on
July 20 in L.A. The actor was driving home when his 1995 Saturn struck a
brick pillar and flipped over. Reps said he will make a full recovery.
COURTS
A former business associate of Beyoncé Knowles, 24, filed a $1.5 million
suit against her on July 14 in NYC. Greg Walker claims the singer did
not compensate him for finding the licensing partner who helped create
her House of Deréon clothing line. Knowles did not return calls for
comment.... Kate Hudson (You, Me and Dupree), 27, was awarded
undisclosed libel damages and a written apology on July 20 from
England's Enquirer. Last October, the tabloid ran a photo and article
calling Hudson ''skin and bones'' and claiming her mother, Goldie Hawn,
60, wanted her to eat more. Hudson said, ''I'm happy this matter has been
resolved.''... L.A. police plan to file reckless driving charges against
Daniel Baldwin (Paparazzi), 45, after they say he hit two parked cars on
July 19 during an 80-mph joyride. Baldwin suffered unspecified injuries.
CONTROVERSY
Scrapes on a plane! Actress Mo'Nique (Phat Girlz), 38, en route to
guest-host on The View, was kicked off a United Airlines flight July 23
in an incident stemming from a suspicious hair dryer. The star, who
claims the matter was racially motivated, says, ''I have never been so
humiliated and treated like a common animal.'' A UA rep said: ''We regret
[she] felt she was not treated with respect.''
FINAL FRONTIER
James Doohan, a.k.a. Star Trek's Scotty, who died last year at 85, will
have part of his ashes blasted into space on Oct. 21, according to Space
Services, a Houston firm that offers extraterrestrial memorials. The
company provided a similar service for Star Trek creator Gene
Roddenberry in 1997.

Emmy-winning actor Jack Warden (Brian's Song), 85, of heart and kidney
failure, July 19, in NYC.... Henry Hewes, 89, American Theatre Critics
Association founder and pundit for The Saturday Review, of an autoimmune
disorder, July 18, in NYC.... German-born actor Kurt Kreuger, 89, who
left Hollywood after being typecast as a Nazi in 1940s films, of a
stroke, July 12, in L.A.... Award-winning blues musician Jessie Mae
Hemphill, 71, of complications from an ulcer, July 22, in Memphis.
