Emily Rios is so five minutes from now

Why we think the young actress in ''Quinceañera'' is the next big thing

WHAT SHE'S DONE:
The 17-year-old stars in Quinceañera, only the second film to win both the Grand Jury and Audience dramatic prizes at Sundance. Big accolades for the California native whose acting credits include a school play called Our Lady of the Tortilla and a music video.

HOW SHE'S DOING IT:
She infuses Magdalena, a Mexican-American girl who becomes pregnant and is thrown out of the house, with subtlety and naturalism.

WHEN SHE'LL BREAK BIG:
Quinceañera opens in NYC and L.A. August 4.

WHY YOU SHOULD ROOT FOR HER:
Because she chose acting over basketball, even after being scouted by colleges.
