''Miami Vice'' will arrest ''Pirates'' | 164926__vicebop_l
DARK VICTORY Foxx and Farrell leave the pastels behind

At last, we'll have a new No. 1 film at the box office this weekend. For the past three weeks, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has ruled the multiplexes, raking in over $330 million in its first 19 days of release. Well, Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell will be putting an end to that.

Seventeen years after the seminal TV series went off the air, Michael Mann has teamed Foxx and Farrell for a modern-day update of Miami Vice that takes place largely outside of Miami. But fans who've been waiting months for this drama are sure to line up, even though many may be turned off by the film's ultra-complicated dialogue and plotline. Still, expect Vice to open with about $35 million.

Pirates, meanwhile, will slip another 45 percent to $19 million, pushing its total past $350 million and ever closer to the all-time top 10 domestic grossers. Third place should go to the new animated entry The Ant Bully, featuring the voices of Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Nicolas Cage, and Paul Giamatti. Coming only a week after Monster House, it'll have to share the family audience but should still manage an $18 million debut.

Monster House will lose about 45 percent of its audience and gross another $12 million, while the poorly received M. Night Shyamalan fantasy Lady in the Water will see a 55 percent drop to $8 million in its second weekend. Regardless, it's still pretty cool to see two Paul Giamatti movies in the top five.
