We asked writer-director Debbie Isitt what inspired her to make Confetti, her mockumentary about three British couples vying for the title of Most Original Wedding of the Year. Her answer, told through gales of laughter, was her sister's nuptials: ''It took about a year to plan, and she spent a lot of money that she didn't really have. On the morning of her wedding, she put some drops in her eyes that would make them sparkle. She went totally blind. All that money and all that time and all that effort I'm not sure she even knew who she was marrying! She recovered her sight 10 days later…in Mexico. I mean, what could be better than that for good inspiration?''
