''There's a responsibility when you play someone who's still alive,'' says The Rock of playing probation officer Sean Porter — the focus of a 1992 Emmy-winning documentary about the transformation of rival gangbangers into a cohesive football team playing in a high school league championship game. ''I had a Sean Porter in my life,'' he says. ''By age 17, I'd been arrested eight times...my arresting officer told me 'I want you to go out for football. That discipline is going to help you make something of your life — or I'm gonna be kicking your ass every week.''' Seems to have worked.
