After 43 years, James Bond is finally going on his first double-0 mission. This updated adaptation of Ian Fleming's original 007 novel will attempt to reboot the long-running action franchise by pretending the previous 20 movies never existed and introducing JB as if he were a brand-new creation. It's a darker, more serious Bond this time around (and a blonder one, too, with Daniel Craig taking over from Pierce Brosnan). ''There's only so many villains' lairs you can put in a volcano or cave,'' explains director Martin Campbell. ''The movies were just getting ridiculous.... It was time for a reinvention.''
