This time around, Tim Allen's Santa Claus must face the imminent arrival of his in-laws (Alan Arkin and Ann-Margret), his first child, and Christmas Eve — all while trying to keep the nefarious Jack Frost (Martin Short) from taking over the North Pole. ''It's more of an It's a Wonderful Life story,'' says Allen, ''about what it would be like without Santa.'' Speaking of which, more is not always merrier: It's likely this will be Allen's last reindeer romp. ''I love the fact that there's three,'' he says of the successful Clause films. ''That was my favorite number for Star Wars...although they made six.''
