Joey Lauren Adams (yes, the high-voiced actress from Chasing Amy and The Break-Up) drew from her childhood in North Little Rock, Ark., while writing this Sundance darling, her directorial debut. Shot on location in Arkansas, the character-driven drama focuses on a booze-friendly Southern gal (Ashley Judd) whose barely sufferable life of bleary one-night stands is thrown from the rails after she meets a kind stranger (Jeffrey Donovan). See, he's an ex-Marine who used to be her husband, but after he faked his own death — wait, sorry...not that kind of Ashley Judd film!
