Rockwell and Zahn's high-wire chemistry combines with Giamatti's dead-on virtuosity to keep this periodically hilarious film, about two bad singers mistaken for safecrackers, from falling apart. They almost make it. EXTRAS Director John Hamburg's NYU short, a Safe Men progenitor, is rough but intrepid. Hamburg, Rockwell, and Zahn trip over one another in rapturous deleted-scene and feature commentary, during which Zahn says one of Rockwell's reggae-colorful shirts makes him look like ''a fighter in Mogadishu...high on khat.''
