Detroit rapper (and Eminem protégé) Obie Trice's latest is full of the same hip-hop clichés as his 2003 debut, Cheers. You got guns, ho's, and his mother. Minus the jaunty beats of Timbaland and Dr. Dre, however, it's a more subdued affair. Even Eminem who seemed to be having fun last time out with sped-up horns and a ragtime piano delivers repetitive, simplistic production on his seven tracks. Second Round's on Me does have moments of cross-genre joy, but this round goes down like a cheap well drink.
